Dang Shen (Codonopsis Pilosula) is a common remedy used to tonify the Spleen and Stomach, reinforce Qi and nourish the Blood. It is most commonly used when there is a Qi deficiency, with symptoms such as fatigue, loss of appetite or weakness. Dang Shen is also considered a substitute for Ren Shen in cases of Qi exhaustion by invigorating and tonifying Spleen Qi, reinforcing Lung Qi and nourishing Blood Yang.
